Community remembers Zaevion Dobson with 4th annual ‘Skate for Zae’ event

The Knoxville community is preparing to remember a local hero.

The fourth annual memorial skate party coming up to celebrate Zaevion Dobson, the Fulton High School cornerback died while shielding three friends from gunfire.

Hundreds of people take part in “Skate for Zae” every year. It’s an initiative put together by the city of Knoxville, the Save our Sons project and the Zaevion Dobson Memorial Fund.

Zaevion loved to skate with his family and they say this is a way to keep his memory alive.

The event will take place on Sunday, March 17 from 3-10 p.m. at the Change Center of Knoxville at 203 Harriet Tubman Street.
