Convicted sex offender accused of rape at Knoxville laundromat

A man on the sex offender registry is now accused of raping a woman at a Knoxville laundromat.

Arthur Lee Jefferson is charged with rape.

According to court documents, the alleged victim was in the bathroom of a laundromat on North Central Street early Saturday morning.

The warrant claims Jefferson entered the bathroom and raped her. He returned with a rope but the victim was able to get away.

Jefferson is being held on a $250,000 bond.
