A scrub-down effort is underway in Knox County school classrooms. Classes were canceled Thursday and Friday due to illness.
The cleaning process was happening Friday at Christenberry Elementary School. Staffers were spraying disinfectant and wiping tables and chairs.
“We’re using a new cleaning product, a disinfectant that kills literally dozens of germs – both viral and antibacterial. So we’re hoping that Monday we’ll have a nice, clean, healthy environment for our students,” said Operations Supervisor Lori Hall.
Hall says her department got the call Wednesday afternoon about the decision to close and from that point, put the wheels into motion.
She says the process is going on at each school in Knox County.
