Death row inmate David Earl Miller chooses electrocution

Local News

Tennessee death row inmate David Earl Miller has chosen electrocution as his method of execution, according to documents submitted to court on Monday.

The document, signed by Miller, says, “I waive lethal injection and wish to be electrocution [sic].”

He originally had until November 20 to decide whether to waive lethal injection, but that deadline was extended to Monday.

Miller is scheduled to die on Dec. 6 for the 1981 murder of 23-year-old Lee Standifer in Knoxville.
