The Morristown Hamblen Humane Society is asking for hay, grain and donations after more than 50 cows were seized by animal control.
Court documents show animal control was called out to a farm Wednesday after reports about cattle in poor condition. Animal control officials say the cows’ hips and rib bones were showing.
The owner of the cattle is now facing animal cruelty charges, while humane society workers focus on getting the animals stronger.
“What we go to to do now ist just make sure we have a significant amount of hay and feed and deworming medicine,” said Jose Rojas, who works for the humane society.
If you would like to make a donation to the humane society to help care for these cows, you can call (423) 581-1494.
