A driver charged in a fatal Knoxville traffic crash has been moved from a local detention center to an ICE holding facility.

Franco Cambrany Francisco-Eduardo, 44, has been moved from the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility to an ICE holding facility, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office.

Francisco-Eduardo had been charged with criminally negligent homicide, as well as already having been charged for no driver’s license and no proof of insurance/financial responsibility for his involvement in a crash resulted in the death of Pierce Corcoran. His booking record showed a hold for Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

According to the investigation, a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling north on Chapman Highway when it crossed into the southbound lanes of traffic striking a Honda Civic that was traveling south on Chapman Highway which resulted in a chain reaction crash.

The driver and passenger of the Honda Civic were transported to UT Medical Center where the driver later died. He was identified as Pierce Corcoran, 22. The female passenger from the Civic was treated for non life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts.

This is a developing story.
