A truck driver was killed Friday in Cocke County when their truck careened off an interstate bridge just before 8 a.m.
Gilbert Mills, 47, was killed in the crash.
Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers say the truck, carrying 29,000 pounds of auto glass, was headed eastbound on Interstate 40 when it left the interstate and landed on Golf Course Road near Newport.
It could take hours to clear the crash. An environmental crew will clean up the fuel that spilled. There is a lot of glass to clean up, too. Traffic on Interstate 40 is not impacted.
