The Knox County Ethics Committee voted 4-3 to dismiss a complaint against Knox County mayoral candidate Brad Anders.
The complaint alleged that he violated the county’s ethics policy when he participated in several charity golf tournaments and received benefits, like tournament entry fees and goody bags, which exceeded the $35 limit for gifts to county officials.

The investigation found that Rural Metro paid the entrance fees and that the goody bags he received were worth less than $35.
Investigators came to this conclusion after interviewing six people and consulting a number of documents.
Anders was first elected to the Knox County Commission in 2008. He represents the sixth district which encompasses parts of Karns, Hardin Valley, Solway Ball Camp and parts of Northwest Knoxville.
