Family members grieve as they wait for answers about deadly Alcoa fire

Local News

Family members of David Morgan, one of six victims killed in a house fire in Alcoa on Sunday, said they still have many questions.

Morgan and his two young sons, Aiden and Jaxsen, died in the fire according to family members.

“David was a lot of fun. He laughed all the time and had a beautiful smile,” said Angel Wilburn, Morgan’s stepmother.

Wilburn said she is holding onto good memories as she mourns the loss of her grandsons.

“It’s just tragic what happened. We are very broken over it and probably never will fully heal over it,” said Wilburn

Morgan’s aunt Shirley Rupert said part of that healing will be knowing more about the fire saying there’s still so many questions weighing heavy on their hearts.

“I want to know what happened to David and those babies, and it breaks my heart more that we don’t know,” said Rupert.

Investigators were back at the home Tuesday. Detectives with the Alcoa Police department told WATE the investigation is ongoing so no further information could be released at this time.
