SEVIERVILLE (WATE) – A former Sevier County corrections officer was arrested in Michigan Wednesday after a grand jury indicted him on charges that he assaulted an inmate.

Rudolph Guy Hayes, 19, is charged with aggravated assault and official misconduct. He was arrested at the home of a relative in Warren, Michigan, and is being held in jail there on a fugitive from justice charges awaiting extradition to Sevier County.

They say inmate Anthony Rendina was causing a disturbance and was confronted by Hayes.
