Former Tennessee parole officer charged with raping probationer

Local News

A former Tennessee Department of Correction probation parole officer has been indicted on charges he had illicit sexual contact with a female probationer he was in charge of supervising.

Bryant L. Thomas, 30, is charged with one count of sexual contact with probationer or parolee and one count of rape.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation says it was made aware of the allegations in February 2017. Thomas was indicted by a grand jury in Anderson County last week.

He turned himself in on Monday and is being held on $75,000 bond.
