It’s an exciting weekend for more than 7,000 Virginia Tech students as commencement ceremonies kick off the graduation weekend in Blacksburg.
“Commencement is what we live for,” said Mark Owczarski, university spokesperson.
“This is a life long journey, and a life altering accomplishment for all of our grads that began back in pre-school.”
University officials are stressing the importance of getting to Lane Stadium early.
Officials are expecting up to 25,000 guests, and open parking is available throughout campus.
Those entering Lane Stadium will need to abide by the clear bag policy.
Legendary Frank Beamer is set to give the keynote address.
