Fresh Start job fair free and open to community

Local News

The third-annual Fresh Start Festival and Job Fair is happening this Saturday at Bookwalter United Methodist Church for those seeking either a new career or looking to revamp it.

Job seekers should be prepared to see it as a community outreach event, where a mobile career coach will be present to assist with resumes and applications as well as local university students being available to assist as “buddies” to children of the job fair participants.

The “buddies” service allows for job seekers who are also parents to meet with businesses and organizations in the job fair and engage them fully, according to job fair coordinators. Their children can enjoy the games and activities offered at the festival and job fair safely while the parents seek work.

The food and fun are free, as well as the opportunity to find a new career.

The Fresh Start Festival and Job Fair will be held Saturday, Sept. 29 from noon to 3 p.m. at the Bookwalter United Methodist Church located at 4218 Central Avenue Pike.
