‘Game On Against Cancer’ is an annual event benefiting Thompson Cancer Survival Center and is scheduled for Friday, Mar. 1, 2019.
Those who attend this event can face off against local celebrities and media personalities in games such as table tennis, billiards, blackjack, air hockey, shuffleboard, corn hole, darts, and also bid on items in a silent auction.
This event will be held at The Wakefield Corporation, 10646 Dutchtown Road, Knoxville, Tenn, from 6-10 p.m.
“We encourage everyone to come out for an evening of recreation and fun that helps Thompson Cares, a fund that assists cancer patients in financial need with basic living expenses,” said Lisa Mellon, owner of Games & Things and Thompson Cancer Survival Center Foundation board member. She also said, “While attendees will face off in exciting game matches, everyone is teaming up for the same cause.”
This event has raised over $344,500 to help patients with housing, transportation, insurance, medication, medical supplies and more in the past seven years. All of the financial assistance allows patients to continue receiving treatments.
Tickets are $50 and include one game match, a free beverage and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Tokens for additional games against celebrities can be purchased for $20.
WATE 6 On Your Side’s Lori Tucker, Tearsa Smith, Matt Hinkin, Chelsea Haynes, Bo Williams, Ken Weathers, Kirstin Farley and Gabriella Pagan are all set to participate.
Sponsors for ‘Game On Against Cancer” are: Games & Things, The Wakefield Corporation, WATE 6 On Your Side, Cumulus Media, Lamar and Comcast Spotlight.
