The governor has made it a focus to look into vocational education, in fact, that was his first legislative push in office; aiming at increasing access to student vocational and technical training.
The governor called South-Doyle’s programs leading. He toured the school Friday to see what they’re doing right.
“We need to do this all across the state,” the governor said. “We came here to listen and to hear more about how they’re doing it and how we can do it for every kid across Tennessee.”
Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs, Knox County Schools superintendent Bob Thomas and other local leaders and business partners were at the school for the governor’s visit.
