A Hamblen County inmate walked away from his work detail Tuesday and is still on the run.
The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office says James Morgan left a Central Services work detail Tuesday.
Deputies say the sheriff’s office is actively looking for Morgan, but he has still not been found.
Chief Deputy Wayne Mize told WATE 6 On Your Side Sunday that Morgan may have fled the state, but the sheriff’s office will continue to follow up on all leads regarding Morgan’s location.
Morgan is one of two inmates to escape from custody in Hamblen County this week.
The sheriff’s office says Donnie Brockwell fled from the work house around 11:30 a.m. Friday but was taken back into custody around 1:30 p.m.
