Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office investigates house fire as arson

A house fire on Saturday has led Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office personnel to an arson investigation.

According to HCSO, the residential structure fire took place around 6:30 p.m. Saturday, March 9 on Byrd Road in Russellville. The Hamblen County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division along with the Tennessee State fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the house fire – that is now believed to be a case of arson.

No injuries were reported. 

HCSO is urging people with information to come forward as the investigation continues. 

If anyone has any information on this incident, they are asked to call 423-586-3781 or 423-585-2701.

People can also call the Tennessee Arson Hotline at 1-800-762-3017 and possibly earn up to a $5,000 cash reward if the information leads to the arrest and conviction to the person(s) responsible for this fire.

A neighbor to the house that caught fire told WATE 6 On Your Side there weren’t any people at the home during the fire. 

No word yet on confirming who owned or occupied the home.
