Holiday-themed ride share brings cheer to Knoxville

Local News

One Knoxville ride-share driver is taking the taking the holiday spirit on the road this season.

David Weech is an Uber and Lyft driver who lives in Knoxville. He says it took him two weeks to transform the car into a Christmas chariot.

Inside the Christmas-mobile he’s got holiday lights, Frosty the Snowman, and customized Christmas carols for passengers to sing along with during their ride.

Everything is handmade and Weech says he loves surprising riders when he shows up.

“When I get up close and they realize I’m their Uber driver, confirm our names. They say, ‘This is the coolest Uber I’ve ever been in. They really do like it,” Weech said.

Weech says the majority of his riders are UT students and but says he doesn’t just do Christmas music he takes musical requests of any genre.  Weech takes requests of any music genre from passengers of his festive ride-share.
