Local News

A woman now facing charges after a close-call with a train in Jefferson City.

She barely managed to get out of her overturned car before it was hit by the oncoming train on Tuesday.

Police saying Kristen Fike lost control of her car at the intersection of Main Street and Bishop Avenue in Jefferson City. It then overturned, landing on its side near the tracks.

Fike climbed out through the sunroof and up a hill before the train hit the car.

We’re told she wasn’t hurt but she’s now charged with driving on a suspended license and violating the open container law.
