Judge: No new trial for man convicted in Christian-Newsom murders

A judge rejected a call for a new trial from one of the men convicted in the murders of Channon Christian and Chris Newsom. 

Lemaricus Davidson was sentenced to death back in 2009 for his role in the murders of Christian and Newsom. Davidson’s defense asked the court for relief from his conviction and sentence, one of the main arguments, pre-trial publicity. 

Judge Walter Kurtz in the memo explained in the dismissal that some of the claims were substantive and others involved issues without proof.
