KFD investigating fire in abandoned Knoxville College dormitory

Knoxville Fire Department responded to reports of smoke at Knoxville College Tuesday. 

At 7:47 p.m. Knoxville Fire responded to reports of smoke coming from an abandoned building at the back of the Knoxville College campus. 

Crews found large boxes of commercial grade drapes, sheets, bed comforters, and office or hotel furniture on fire in a building that used to be a dormitory. 

Firefighters say that someone may have been using the building to store these items. 

Crews worked to put out the fire for almost an hours and KFD says there are no reported injuries. 

The cause of the is under investigation.
