Thousands are gathering today to pay their respects to Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Steve Hinkle.
A celebration of life is being held inside Sullivan Central High School where people from across the country will have the opportunity to pay their respects to the fallen officer, who lost his life this week after being shot in the line of duty last weekend in Blountville.
The celebration of life happened at 11 a.m. and following the event, a precession was held.
Many East Tennessee law enforcement entities helped with the procession including Loudon County Sheriff’s office, Greene County Sheriff’s Office and many more.
