Knox County deputies search for armed robber

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is  asking for any public information about an armed robbery that took place Wednesday night outside a North Knox County business before fleeing in a vehicle.

According to the initial investigation by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office, a white male in a dark-colored Mitsubishi pulled into the parking lot of Lee’s Food Market, located at 7657 Clinton Highway, around 10:16 p.m. and blocked a woman’s vehicle.  He got out of the car, pointed a handgun at the woman and demanded the money she had in a bank bag.

The suspect got back into his vehicle and fled southbound on Clinton Highway.

He is described as a white male, approximately 23-27-years old, 5’8”-5’10”, 130-140 pounds. He was wearing a gray t-shirt, blue jeans and a dark-colored hoodie with his face covered at the time of the robbery.
