Knox County emergency crews responded to reports of a submerged truck Sunday night.
Knox County Rescue Dive Squad and the Knoxville Fire Department responded to the reported submerged vehicle at Mabry Hood Rd at Webb School Ln on Sunday.
Someone was passing by and spotted the top of a truck that had been submerged.
Rescuers went in the water and punched out the window to make sure the vehicle was empty; no one was in the truck. They are not sure how long the truck has been there.
“We did a quick search of the vehicle to make sure no one was trapped in, all windows were intact at the time and our guys punched a window out and did a thorough sweep,” said Kevin Faddis of the Knoxville Fire Department. “Knoxville Rescue Squad came in and did a secondary search, to which both searches were negative.”
The truck has been removed from the water.
Knoxville Fire Dept implores local residents to, “turn around, don’t drown.”
