The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is calling its Organized Retail Crime Holiday Task Force a success, saying more people were arrested and more stolen property recovered than last year.
From November 21 to December 23, 317 adults and 22 juveniles were arrested. Nearly $186,000 in stolen merchandise was recovered, including eight stolen vehicles. Officers also seized around $535,000 in counterfeit trademark property.
Deputies also seized a large amount of drugs, including 133 grams of meth, 36 grams of heroin, and 106 grams of marijuana, as well as ecstasy, Xanax, Sublocade, Oxymorpohne and Suboxone.
A total of 51 misdemeanor citations and 50 outstanding warrants were also served.
