The Knoxville Police Department confirmed Tuesday that a man was killed in a crash on I-40 Monday.
Douglas Wright, 72, of Knoxville died Monday when he was involved in a traffic crash with a semi-truck on I-40 W near Papermill Drive in Knoxville. According to a preliminary KPD report, Wright’s vehicle continued west after the crash and struck a light pole on the south side of the interstate.

Wright was transported to UT Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
