Knoxville police arrested a federal fugitive after a confrontation in Western Heights on Tuesday evening.
Officers were conducting walking patrols in Western Heights when they saw a man leaving an apartment that had been evicted.

Police arrested the man, identified as 39-year-old Jeremy Gyurnek, of Etowah. Gyurnek had federal warrants for possession of a handgun by a convicted felon and manufacturing meth over 50 grams. Police said they also found drug paraphernalia when they arrested him.
He will be held in Knoxville until U.S. marshals extradite him.
