Knoxville police investigating armed robbery on Chapman Highway

The Knoxville Police Department is investigating after an armed robbery at a business on Chapman Highway.

KPD said a man entered the Dollar General Store on Chapman Highway around 9:20 a.m. Thursday and pointed a semi-automatic handgun at the clerk, demanding money. The clerk unlocked the register and the robber took the cash drawer before leaving the store.

The suspect got into a two-tone Toyota Sienna minivan with a white, gray or silver bottom. It is believed the van was a 2000 model. 

The robber is described as medium height and build, wearing a camouflage jacket, blue pants with a white stripe, black shoes, a bandana and sunglasses.
