Knoxville program helping adults with special needs stay active

Local News

A field of volunteers came together Thursday to give adults with special needs in our community the opportunity to have fun by playing softball.

It’s part of the city of Knoxville’s dynamic recreation program.

In addition to having fun, the program works to help build confidence, improve physical abilities and expand support for individuals with special needs.

For these games of softball, everyone has a partner. Volunteers lend a helping hand.

Participants in Knoxville’s dynamic recreation program also get to play soccer, tennis and more.
