KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) – Some people living at a Knoxville senior living facility are on edge. Knox County deputies recently responding to a reported shooting at St. Mary’s Riverview, on John Sevier Highway.
WATE 6 On Your Side spoke with someone who says a bullet pierced through the walls of his home.
“You’re looking at the bullet hole that came through,” Rickey Jeffers explained.
Jeffers walked us through the aftermath of a reported shooting at the place he lives. A bullet, he says, flying through his walls.
A police report confirming Knox County deputies responded to reports of a shooting at St. Mary’s Riverview.
“Why shoot up an old folks home,” Jeffers said.
Jeffers telling us he believes two shootings happened there, one on April 2 and another on the 9th. But a letter from management to residents states St. Mary’s Riverview was shot at only once – on April 2.
Regardless, the news is tough to handle.
“Wonder if it’s going to happen again. And this time how close is it going to get to somebody… How bad,” said Jeffers.
Jeffers is on edge he says and now hoping for a solution.
“I feel concerned for the neighbors. If another shooting comes by it might hit them. So something needs to be done, but what? It’s not up to me,” he said.
That letter issued from management to residents also stating right now, they don’t know if the shooting was random or intentional.
