Knoxville will be the host of the 2019 Bassmaster Classic fishing tournament for the first time it the tourney’s 49-year history.
Over 50 anglers and fams from all over the country will come to Knoxville for the tournament.
“While the event is here, you’re talking over $20 million in economic impact because we have hundreds of thousands of people coming from all over the country – it really is the ‘Super Bowl’ of fishing,” says Visit Knoxville president Kim Bumpas.
The competition will be form March 15 through March 17 on Fort Loudoun and Tellico lakes, on the Tennessee River.
Each morning of the fishing tourney, 52 anglers will push off from Volunteer Landing. Fans are welcome to come to the free event, as well as to the Classic’s Outdoor Expo will be held Friday through Sunday, March 15-17, in the Knoxville Convention Center and the adjacent World’s Fair Exhibition Hall, which is being newly renovated this spring.
