A Knoxville woman celebrated her 102nd birthday Wednesday.
Mary Elizabeth Parker celebrated at Echo Ridge Retirement Home in West Knoxville with her family by her side.
Born in 1917 during the floods in Chattanooga, she’s described by her daughter as a world traveler who’s lived a tremendously interesting life.
“I’m in good health and of course I never dreamed I would be 102, but I did,” Parker said. “Every time I get up in the morning I put one foot in front of the other.”
We’re told she has two daughters and almost a dozen of her grandchildren came for her celebrations
