A Knoxville woman has been charged with second-degree homicide after police said she stabbed her grandfather to death early Friday morning.
Police responded to a home in the 400 block of Watauga Avenue in Knoxville just before 2 a.m. Friday where they found Willie G. Smith, 68, lying on the floor suffering from a stab wound. Police said Smith was involved in a fight with his granddaughter, 20-year-old Kassandra Scharff, when she picked up a knife and stabbed him.

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene Scharff was arrested.
Scharff was taken to the Roger D. Wilson Detention Facility where she is being held on a $100,000 bond.
