The simplest traffic infractions can lead to complicated situations – in this case, Knoxville Police Department patrol unit making a simple traffic stop that resulted in the confiscation of several bags of marijuana, a firearm and a drug felony charge for the suspect(s).
According to an Instagram post made by KPD on Wedesday, a traffic stop on Western Avenue for illegal window tinting resulted in the seizure of 4 ounces of marijuana allegedly packaged for resale and a gun.
“Guns and drugs don’t mix!” KPD’s post caption stated.
The suspect(s) was or were charged with possessing a firearm during a traffic drug felony, KPD also saying the gun will be held as evidence on felony gun charges. It was not clear how many people were in the vehicle or how many were charged.
