KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — The Knoxville Utilities Board is reporting nearly 13,000 customers are without power as of 3:30 a.m. Thursday as winds have picked up ahead of a severe storm.

The utility provider’s outage map shows 12,973 without power with the majority in western Knox County and northern Loudon County. Estimated restoration of power varies from 3 a.m. in some spots to 7 a.m. in others.

Some customers are seeing power go out for the second time in 12 hours. Wednesday evening saw a pair of power outages affecting more than 1,000 customers each in Powell and East Knox County.

Across the state more than 60,000 customers are without power, the majority of them are in East Tennessee. Volunteer Energy Cooperative is reporting more than 9,100 without power. Lenoir City Utilities Board is reporting more than 6,700 without power. Alcoa Electric Department is reporting 5,200 without power. Sevier County Electric is reporting more than 4,500 without power. Fort Loudoun Electric Cooperative is reporting more than 3,500 without power. LaFollette Utilities Board is reporting more than 3,400 without power. Clinton Utilities Board is reporting more than 1,700 without power.
