Ky. deputies: Jellico men caught ‘wet handed’ trying to steal water heater

Two Jellico men were arrested Sunday in Whitley County after they were caught stealing “wet handed” stealing a water heater from a home.

Whitley County deputies were called to the home on Taylor Meadows Road for a report that it had been broken into. When they arrived, they found Brandon Lee Baird, 43, and Joseph Webb, 26, inside.

A water heater had been removed, causing significant water damage to the home, which is owned by the University of the Cumberlands’ Mountain Outreach Program. There was other damage to the home as well.

Baird and Webb were charged with second degree burglary. Baird was also charged with alcohol intoxication in a public place. More charges are possible.
