If you’re looking for the best Tennessee cities in which to find love this Valentine’s Day, you’re in luck.

HomeSnacks.net, a quasi-data research company, came up with a formula to rank the 10 best cities for singles on Tennessee.

How did they come up with the list? They examined population density, the percentage of the population that’s male vs. female, percentage of households with children, the median age and the number of unmarried people in the city to create a “Singles Score.” The higher the score, the better the city is (theoretically) for singles.

So, without further ado, here’s the top ten list:

  1. Knoxville: 183,927 people with a median age of 33. 33.7 percent of households are married and 23.5 percent have children.
  2. Cookeville: 32,256 people with a median age of 29.7. 33.9 percent of households are married and 24.4 percent have children.
  3. Red Bank: 11,794 people with a median age of 37.9. 34.3 percent of households are married and 21.7 percent have children.
  4. Memphis: 655,856 people with a median age of 33.5. 29.3 percent of households are married and 30.8 percent have children.
  5. East Ridge: 21,311 people with a median age of 37.3. 38 percent of households are married and 29.3 percent have children.
  6. Murfreesboro: 122,077 people with a median age of 30.3. 45 percent of households are married and 32.7 percent have children.
  7. Cleveland: 43,276 people with a median age of 34. 40.2 percent of households are married and 31.2 percent have children.
  8. Martin: 10,989 people with a median age of 24.4. 37.1 percent of households are married and 24.5 percent have children.
  9. Chattanooga: 175,462 people with a median age of 37. 35.5 percent of households are married and 26.0 percent have children.
  10. Clarksville: 146,281 people with a median age of 29.0. 49.9 percent of households are married and 41.4 percent have children.

It should be noted that some of these “cities” are actually communities in a larger city. Nonetheless, it’s a fun bit of data to examine for Valentine’s Day.

Other East Tennessee cities on the full list include:

  • Sevierville (19th)
  • Crossville (24th)
  • Bristol (38th)
  • Athens (39th)
  • Kingsport (40th)
  • Oak Ridge (42nd)
  • Maryville (43rd)
  • Farragut (44th)
  • Morristown (45th)
