GREENBACK, Tenn. (WATE) – A Loudon County woman is in custody and her husband underwent surgery following a stabbing that allegedly occurred Sunday morning.
According to the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office, the 911 call for the stabbing came in just before 3 a.m. as a residential domestic situation to which deputies responded. A woman had called. When deputies arrived, another 911 call came in from a man, at the same address of the initial call, reporting that he’d been stabbed by his wife.
“Deputies quickly located the involved female, identified as 42-year-old Leslie W. Myers, in a vehicle as she was attempting to leave the scene. Deputies were able to safely secure her without incident,” LCSO’s Sheriff Tim Guider states in the incident report.
Once inside the home, a LCSO patrol deputies found a man, identified as 38-year-old Alan Myers, Jr., who had been stabbed multiple times and appeared to have lost a significant amount of blood.
Deputies secured the scene and began administering first aid to him until Priority EMS Medics arrived on scene.
Alan Myers, Jr. was transported to the trauma unit at the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he underwent surgery.
“He is expected to survive,” says Sheriff Guider. “During the investigation, LCSO detectives were able to gather the evidence needed to charge the female party with attempted first-degree murder.”
“This is just another example of the risks our patrol deputies face on a daily basis, the difference their training makes in saving lives, and the swift and thorough work of our criminal investigations division detectives that leads to the outcome that we see in a case like this”, said Sheriff Guider.
Leslie Myers is being held at the Loudon County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center pending a $250,000.00 bond.
