Man escapes South Knox County house fire

Local News

Crews are at the scene of a house fire Tuesday morning in South Knox County.

The fire was reported around 10:15 a.m. in the 1200 block of Chestnut Street. Rural Metro Fire is on the scene and reports it as a working fire.

Rural Metro spokesman Jeff Bagwell says a man was inside when the fire started, but he made it out without injuries. He said there were several pets inside, but so far crews haven’t found any.

Bagwell says the property was rented and just had the electricity turned back on under the new renter.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
