Miss Tennessee Christine Williamson made a stop at Anderson County elementary schools on Tuesday.
Williamson spoke with students at Norwood Elementary and Dutch Valley Elementary in Anderson County.
As Miss Tennessee, Williamson serves as the governor’s official spokesperson for character education in Tennessee. In that role, Williamson goes to different schools and talks to students about different character traits. Her topic in Anderson County was respect.
“I think it’s really important to teach, especially young kids, about respect for themselves, but more importantly if they respect themselves, they’ll respect the world around them and the people around themselves. I think that’s how we build a better future – by teaching them this at such a young age,” said Williamson.
Williamson will visit Andersonville Elementary and Grand Oaks Elementary on Wednesday.
