Wednesday, Jan. 9 is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day.

Citizens can show their support by wearing something blue, or giving a shout-out on social media to deputies and police.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office is also celebrating.

Knox County Sheriff’s officials recognizing their officers of the year on Wednesday – such as Officer Conner Amburn, who is part of their winning K9 unit.

Amburn spoke about his successful partnership that helps keep Knox County safe:

“It’s a delicate edge that you walk,” he said. “It’s like a best friend and a child, both. He understands that just like we do.”

The officers recognized today said they’re humbled by this honor.
