A New Jersey woman has filed a $400,000 lawsuit after she says she fell while getting off a ride at Dollywood and broke her wrist.
Attorneys for Judy Lynn Etherton say she was exiting the Rockin’ Roadway ride on March 19, 2017, when she tripped and fell “due to no safety devices being in place to assist patrons exiting the ride.”
The suit says there was no doorway, so riders have to step over the side to get out. While Etherton was trying to exit the ride, the suit says she got her foot caught, causing her to be thrown to the ground. She suffered a broken wrist among other injuries.
Her attorney says the ride was not properly maintained, riders were not properly instructed on how to exit properly and riders were not properly supervised.
The suit says Etherton suffered substantial medical expenses and lost wages, and she will continue to suffer the effects of her injures.
A spokesperson for Dollywood has not commented on the lawsuit.
