A puppy found in Newport with severe chemical burns is now happy in her forever home.

Hope fought for her life at the Brother Wolf Animal Rescue in Asheville, North Carolina, after being found last month. The rescue was unsure if she would make it, but the puppy proved to be a fighter.

The rescue posted to Facebook on Tuesday that her new dad James found out about Hope from his vet before she even got to Brother Wolf and he knew he would have the perfect home. He called every day to check on Hope while she received round-the-clock care and finally got to take her home this week.

Brother Wolf Animal Rescue says donations were critical to give Hope the type of care she needed from medications to surgeries.
