A Newport puppy found with severe chemical burns is now making a miraculous recovery.
Earlier this month, Hope was fighting for her life at an Asheville, North Carolina, animal rescue. Brother Wolf Animal Rescue offered around the clock care.
The pictures were heartbreaking. The Newport puppy’s body was covered in chemical burns. The animal rescue caring for her was unsure if she would make it, but the puppy proved to be a fighter.
“Hope is doing amazing. She still looks a little rough, but she feels great. She feels so much better. She’s pain-free. She’s really loving. And she has learned that people are her friends,“ said Brooke Fornea with Brother Wolf Animal Rescue.
Fornea says Hope still has to grow some of her fur back, but she’s healthy and recovering well.
The puppy had to have a portion of her ear removed but the shelter doesn’t anticipate any more surgeries.
“She was also just in so much pain she wasn’t really doing anything but sitting. And now she wants to play, she loves toys, she wants to run around. Really just a complete 360 in personality,“ Fornea said.
Hope’s story has a happy ending. She has an adoptive home lined up. The rescue is hoping she can join her new family as early as next week.
Brother Wolf Animal Rescue telling us donations were critical to give hope the type of care she needed from medications to surgeries.
