Ober Gatlinburg reopens after warm temperatures forced temporary closure

Local News

Ober Gatlinburg will reopen its ski and snowboarding slopes Friday after warm temperatures forced a temporary closure.

Artificial snowmaking has been underway since Tuesday, according to officials at Ober Gatlinburg.

The Mogul, Upper Bear, Cub Way, Castle Run and Ski School slopes will open at 9 a.m. Friday with a 24”-36” base.

After opening on December 11, the slopes were closed on January 5 due to unseasonably warm temperatures.
