The “Queen of Southern cookin'” paid a visit to East Tennessee on Tuesday at her Pigeon Forge restaurant.
Paula Deen, greeted her fans at her restaurant, Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen, and her fans either bought or brought their favorite Paula Deen items for her to sign.
Everyone that attended was excited to see Deen; even a group from Georgia made the trip down to see her.
Deen said, “It just melts my heart that these people feel the trust that they have to talk with me, and it never be repeated again. It’s all about the people, it’s all about the people.”
Deen also said that she loves East Tennesse, going as far as claiming them as her people, but she then noted that this is of course Dolly Parton’s hometown.
When Deen first opened her restaurant in Pigeon Forge, she received a hand-written note from Dolly herself welcoming her to the neighborhood.
It’s the spirit of East Tennessee that she says makes signing events like this so special, and why she looks forward to coming back everytime.
