A multi-vehicle crash caused backups on Alcoa Highway Tuesday evening after a pedestrian was hit by a car.
According to Mark Nagi with the Tennessee Department of Transportation, a woman was walking along Alcoa Highway near Barber Hill Lane after being released from UT hospital. She attempted to cross over to the median and that is when she was hit by the car.
This caused what Nagi called “a four-car chain reaction crash.” No other injuries were reported.
The identity and condition of the pedestrian have not yet been released.
