Person rescued from ventilation system of Knoxville convenience store

Knoxville firefighters had to rescue a person who became trapped in a ventilation system at a convenience store in the Fort Sanders neighborhood.

Crews were called to the 17th Street Market & Deli around 10 a.m. Thursday. The person, who had not yet been identified, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

The Knoxville Police Department remains on the scene. They have not yet said why they believe the person was in the ventilation system.
