‘Pi Day’ means special deals at some Knoxville-area restaurants

It’s March 14 – Happy Pi Day! 

If you can remember all the way back to your childhood, the day commemorates the ratio of a circle’s circumference to diameter, 3.14159265359.

Many businesses in Knoxville are celebrating 3.14 by giving away deals – all in the name of π. 

Deals:

Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza – “Celebrate Pi Day by hosting the world’s largest pizza party, serving up custom built, artisanal pizzas for just $3.14 each at the company’s more than 300 locations. This year marks the sixth straight edition of Blaze Pizza’s Pi Day celebration, with guests across the US, Canada, and abroad expected to join in the celebration, forming lines out the doors, as has been the case in years past.”

The following Knoxville-area locations are participating:
•    Cedar Bluff: 113 N Peters Rd.
•    Turkey Creek: 10978 Parkside Dr.
•    Alcoa: 1055 Hunters Crossing

Bojangles – “Pies don’t have to be round. On the whimsical holiday of National Pi Day (Thursday, March 14), visit Bojangles’ to experience three of our splendid, rectangular-shaped Sweet Potato Pies for the fitting price of $3.14.”
“Grabbing three of our flavorful sweet potato pies for just three bucks and change on Pi Day is math we can all understand and appreciate!”

Buttermilk Sky Pie Shop at 5400 Kingston Pike in Bearden is also offering pie discounts and coupons, and a pie contest giveaway for Pi Day. 

Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen – “Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen restaurants nationwide are introducing a special offer for guests celebrating the mathematical constant π. For one day only, diners can “Pie One, Get One” of Cheddar’s made- fresh-daily Homemade Chicken Pot Pie.
Guests who order the restaurant’s iconic item in-restaurant or ToGo will get a second pie free-of-charge to take and bake at home, no coupon necessary. And not to worry – Cheddar’s will provide the baking instructions.”

Sassy Pants Sweets & Treats at 125 Randolph Road in Oak Ridge is hosting a Pi Day event with, you guessed – dessert pie. “Happy Pi Day!! Come celebrate with us by eating Pie on Pi day!!
$3.14 mini pies (or 4/$12 for those who like rational numbers!)
Two big pies for $ 31.41 (15.92 for a single pie)

VG’s Bakery at 1152 Kingston Pike: “VG is gearing up with REAL Key Lime for these delectable pies. Don’t forget – slices are just $3.14 at the shop!”
