Pilot donates more than $57,000 to local nonprofits

Local News

Pilot convenience stores has donated more than $57,000 to local nonprofit organizations.

Both the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society along with the Salvation Army of Knoxville were awarded checks Tuesday morning.

Both organizations were excited to use the donation to help local people in need.

“That will help us provide patient support: copay assistance, travel grants, and other information for those families when they are diagnosed,” says Lori Friel, campaign manager for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

“We house 88 people a night: men, women, and children, plus people in the community who we need to help with rent, food, and utilities. A lot of these opportunities would not be possible if we did not have the funds we need to generate to help the people in the community,” says Major Dalton Cunningham with the Salvation Army.

The money was raised by Pilot guests who opted to round up their purchases or give back to the community.
